Despite the summer heat, a lower turnout than we had hoped for, and a few vendors who had to cancel at the last minute, the Greatest American Cleanup Community Celebration was an absolute blast!

And of course, a very special thank you to Keep Florida Beautiful for hosting the Hazardous Waste Relay Race. It was one of the highlights of the day and so much fun to watch, and participate in!
We also want to thank Commissioners Fred Nichols, Josh Lawhon, and Quincee Messersmith for being such great sports and taking their turns in the dunk tank. The smiles, laughter, and splashes made for some great memories!
Most importantly, thank you to the road adopters, volunteers, cleanup participants, raffle ticket purchasers, and everyone who came out to support the event and our efforts to make Wakulla County cleaner and more beautiful for America’s 250th Birthday.
So many people contributed their time and energy, but we’d like to give a special shout-out to Christina Sanabria for helping organize the event and bringing all the moving pieces together. Your hard work and dedication were instrumental in making the celebration happen.
Events like these remind us that success isn’t measured only by attendance numbers, it’s measured by community spirit, partnerships, and people willing to show up and make a difference.
